黃作梅

黃作梅（約1916—1955），早年在香港從事進步文化工作。1941年底香港淪陷後，他通曉英語、熟悉社會關係，被廣東人民抗日遊擊總隊派到港九大隊，於1942年2月建立國際工作小組並任組長，負責營救國際友人、被擊落的盟軍飛行員和港英官兵，開展對外統戰。抗戰勝利後從事新聞和外交工作。1955年4月，他作為中國代表團一路領隊赴萬隆參加亞非會議，所乘「克什米爾公主號」專機被特務安放定時炸彈墜毀，黃作梅與同機人員壯烈犧牲。

Huang Zuomei (c.1916–1955) worked in progressive cultural circles in Hong Kong. After Hong Kong fell at the end of 1941, his English language skills and social contacts led the Guangdong People's Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Detachment to assign him to the Hong Kong-Kowloon Brigade. In February 1942 he set up and led an International Work Group that rescued Allied pilots, British colonial officials, and other foreign nationals and carried out United Front outreach. After the war he worked in journalism and diplomacy. In April 1955, leading a delegation branch to the Bandung Asian-African Conference, his plane, the Kashmir Princess, was bombed by KMT agents; Huang died in the crash.
